Until a few years ago, I was an elementary school student who never ate kongguksu. My mother-in-law loved kongguksu, so in the summer, she would wash, soak, and grind soybeans to make kongguksu. Whenever she treated her friends to kongguksu, I would always think, “What would taste good in kongguksu?” But when I was pregnant with my third child, Kongsoon, I started thinking about kongguksu, and even though I couldn’t make it myself like my mom, I would sometimes order it and eat it (before my third pregnancy, I had only had kongguksu twice in my life??).
