| Episode 4 | Growing Pains of the First Child It was a difficult and heartbreaking last week. Geum-i, who had been doing well since Ddung-dung-i was born, suddenly, really suddenly, had a hard time. Maybe what we thought was going well was an illusion of adults. On Monday, as usual, when I was going to go to daycare, she cried a lot and wouldn’t leave me. I was even more embarrassed because she had been going happily without crying when she first started going to daycare. The teacher said that we would meet during the daycare walk, and as soon as we left the daycare area with me, she ran around excitedly. Then, when I asked her, “Should we go to daycare now?”, she immediately said, “No, no” and cried. My heart was complicated. I felt sorry for her, but I also thought of my second child who was at home with her mother. ‘It’s almost feeding time.. What should I do..’ We talked while lying on the bed before going to bed. “You didn’t want to go to daycare today?” “Yeah.” “Why didn’t you want to~?” “When I go to daycare alone, Mom and Dad won’t come back because they went to the hospital.” “Don’t go to the hospital, Mom.” The day my first child gave birth to my second child must have been a big shock to my first child.
