#7. Romantic 6-person dining table The first thing I did after buying my first house in life was to go buy a dining table. Since there was no place to put a dining table in my previous rented house, I had to put a tea table in the living room, but I thought that if I ever got my own house, I would definitely have a large wooden 6-person dining table. While I was a newlywed who started off with nothing, I thought countless times, “Why is there no house of my own in this dense forest of apartments?” and “When will I get my own house?” on my way to and from work. I wondered if I was the only one who had such thoughts. My husband, who is my comrade and life partner (a very common expression), also had a lot of trouble owning a house, and he ended up borrowing money from the bank to buy a house. A happy home was a picture of me having a large dining table, surrounded by my family, cooking hearty meals and sharing the day’s work. In my current home, I live with a very small dining table that can seat up to 8 people, but the 6-person dining table that I had in my first home became a desk in my current home, and recently, I use it as a space to read books or enjoy brunch in my home cafe hobby room. It provides warmth from the wood, and its sturdy four legs make it still useful. When I invited my in-laws to a housewarming party after buying my first home, my father-in-law said that I bought this large table because I was planning on having so many children. However, we still rely on each other like newlyweds and have been living as a two-person household without children for 17 years, but this table does not feel too big to us.
