Having a kitchen with a minimalist kitchen set was my dream before having a house. Due to the limited budget, we made a lower kitchen set because it was more of a priority. But for the upper kitchen set, we used the existing shelf and still used the old ivar cabinet for additional storage. The advantage of shelves is that they can store aesthetic kitchen utensils and other decoration items. But the downside is that it has to be cleaned/wiped diligently because it gets dusty easily.
