My Mother's Dish Cabinet The older I get, the more I realize that sayings like 'The power of genes is strong' or 'No one can steal seeds' or 'A daughter carries her mother's fate' are so true. I'm often surprised at how similar my mother's physical characteristics and even her tastes are. There is a large dish cabinet in front of the dining table at my mother's house, and whenever I see my mother's dishes filling up the small cabinet next to it, I think that I keep buying dishes because I take after my mother. On top of that, my maternal uncle used to run a dish factory, so there were dishes overflowing. My mother, who was born as the second daughter, held several banquets at home every time she married off her younger siblings, so the dishes in the 12-person full set were like babies' dishes, and she had enough dishes at home to hold all those banquets, so the dish cabinet was about to burst. Now that she is older, she throws away all the dishes, saying they are a burden, or gives them to her neighbors, and she has practiced emptiness a lot, but among the few dishes left, she started to bring home ones that she likes little by little. Now, they are from brands that you can’t even find in search engines, but if you mix them with the products that are out now, they make pretty nice plating, so I am quite satisfied with them and use them, and they have become the real True Cine Oldies in our house. Most recently, she brought me a hwachae bowl that I used when I was a baby (or maybe when I was in elementary school, I don’t even remember).
