#11 My hobby has become my job Now my two daughters are middle school 1st grader and high school 2nd grader, but the memories of my childhood when I was walking and doing cute things with my tongue are becoming more precious as I get older. I really liked making things with my hands, so while raising my children, I developed a new hobby of making clothes for them. Even though I was exhausted from raising children, I had so much fun making clothes for my children by cutting down on sleep. I made T-shirts, one-piece dresses, jumpers, coats, indoor clothes, and even pants. There was no clothes I hadn’t made and dressed them in. Then, after giving birth to my second child, I learned about Liberty fabric. What on earth is this fabric? It costs over 40,000 won per yard?? With such curiosity, I made up my mind and entered Liberty fabric in 2013. Since fabric usually costs around 4,000 won per yard, you can imagine how much of an adventure it was at the time. The Liberty fabric I met that way had a soft texture, luxurious colors, and prints that were enough to make me fall in love at first sight. For me, who loved floral fabrics that others considered tacky, it was the end of floral fabrics. (I didn’t realize this until I found out about Liberty fabrics, but most of the floral fabrics sold on the market were copies of Liberty patterns.) After much thought about ruining the expensive fabric, I made a one-piece dress for my second child and posted it on my blog to brag about it. That was the beginning of a series of requests to make the same one, and I started making one or two for fun, and it’s been going on ever since. In fact, it’s not easy to do everything myself, from cutting to packaging, and since I work with expensive fabrics, I’ve been so nervous that I’ve even developed chronic neck and shoulder pain. However, when I look at the finished clothes after going through the tedious process, all that remains is a sense of pride and accomplishment. When I think about the people who believe in me and support me for a long time, the energy I gain from this work is greater than I thought, so I think I’ve been able to do it this far. In particular, what I like the most about doing this job is making clothes and taking pictures of them, and I often feel like I'm making clothes just to take pictures. These days, I take pictures of clothes in a corner of my living room, which is filled with vintage zones that are full of my tastes, and this time is really precious. #Record Club #취향공간에초록한스푼
