He brought me a metal candle holder once before, but I was disappointed because it was an old and rusty candle holder that seemed to be used for ancestral rites, so I got rid of it. This time, he sent me a photo first. I quickly replied, “Yes,” because the uncommon design and vintage feel were pretty. In person, it was smaller than I thought, but it was perfect as an object. The details were prettier than in the photo, and I thought it was made of stainless steel, but it was made of pewter, so I liked it even more because the subtle sheen was luxurious. We don’t usually express it to each other, but my dad remembered that I like vintage items, found something I thought I would like, and brought it to me as a gift filled with his heart.
