There are things that heal the heart just by looking at them. There are magical things that make you immerse yourself in their existence and forget all the unnecessary things. For some, they may be a beloved lover. For others, they may be pets, objects that you are attached to, or, like me, nature. I feel that way when I look at a weeping willow. When I see its branches drooping and slowly leaning to one side in the wind, I feel as if the long branches and leaves are sweeping away the things that have piled up in my heart and comforting the empty space again. The long branches are not able to rise up and are weakly hanging down, so it may seem ugly, but that appearance actually gives me a sense of elegance and grace. It is an interesting phenomenon where strength is gained from a relaxed appearance. When I sit by the window at a Starbucks near my house, I can see a weeping willow tree far away between the buildings. When I frown and type away on my laptop, I look up for a moment and, without fail, there is a weeping willow tree there. Always, in the same place, the unchanging tree speaks. “It’s okay to take a break.” #We’ve Overdone It #기록클럽 #느티나무
