In a small room with an extended veranda space, there are still wall pillars, which limits the furniture arrangement and space utilization. The space is divided into a bedroom with a mattress placed on the inside of the wall pillar, and a resting space with a sofa placed by the window. Since the light is blocked by the pillar, I placed low furniture in between to create a sense of separation, but also to allow the sun to enter the room. It may look a bit awkward to place a bed in the middle of the room, but the low furniture becomes an extension of the wall, which can provide a sense of stability. I placed a side table that is similar to or slightly higher than the mattress at the foot to create a feeling of confinement.
