I like thick blankets even in summer. When my husband turns on the air conditioner to match the temperature, I get cold so I cover myself with a thick blanket. And in winter, I always sleep with a heated mattress, so I want a blanket that is moderately thick rather than one that is too hot! In the end, I tend to use one blanket for all seasons 365 days.
