5 Mistakes I Made When I Was a Newbie at Home Decorating, Part 2 I brought you Part 2 because many of you sympathized with the home styling tips I posted last time.👏👏👏 The fact that Part 2 is out means that I made a lot of mistakes.🙃 If you are a total beginner who doesn't know anything about home decorating, you can avoid the worst situation if you just pay attention to the parts I told you..!! 1. Buying without considering the square footage and free space When I was an interior worm, I thought that furniture and home appliances were always bigger. Of course, I measured the size before buying them, but I didn't know that when I actually brought them into the house, they felt much bigger than I expected.🥲 In the case of sofas or beds, if they take up a lot of wall space, the house looks too narrow (Be especially careful if they are dark-colored products) and you often end up putting side tables or home appliances on both sides, so you need to think carefully about free space. On the other hand, if you buy small furniture and appliances in a large house, it will look too dreary and empty, right? As I mentioned last time, because of this, before you start decorating your house in earnest, it is a good idea to find a house with a similar size and structure to yours and use it as a home styling role model. 2. Choosing without considering furniture rearrangement If you are interested in decorating your house, you will probably want to change the location of your furniture at some point. In preparation for that time, it is better to avoid products that can only be placed in a limited space, such as a couch-type sofa or an L-shaped desk. The same goes for construction that involves drilling into walls. When you have to move furniture to a different location, if there are things that get in the way, such as shelves, lights, or picture frames, it will be really difficult to utilize the space. 😥 Even if you remove it, it is a little frustrating to see damaged wallpaper. I recommend that you try this when your home decorating level has improved a little. 3. Not setting a clear standard Before purchasing a product, you need to clearly decide which part you will prioritize. This is really cheap and practical, but the brand is disappointing, That one is perfect for everything, but the price is the problem, And if you choose something in the middle as a compromise, It is easy to end up with a bad purchase that is neither here nor there. 💸 Think carefully about the part that you absolutely cannot give up, And never compromise on that. Personally, I think that choosing to get 99% satisfaction in one part is less regrettable than getting 40-50% satisfaction in all aspects. 4. Asking for advice from people with different personalities Newbies to home decorating, especially newlyweds, continue to waver because the whole process is new to them. Then, you would naturally ask for advice from people around you, right? At this time, it may be a mistake to ask someone who has a completely different personality from you. I want to decorate my house like an influencer's house, but instead of being frugal and doing a good job of managing my household, I show a married friend who is not interested in interior design a high-end product that is popular on Instagram. What would he say? Why are you spending money on that? Since it will easily break when you raise a child anyway, Just buy something that is cheap and sturdy. I think he would probably reply with something like this. Haha But this is also true, so my head is starting to get complicated.😂 In this case, since the direction we are pursuing is different from the beginning, It is better to filter it to some extent. (The same goes for the opposite case.) Of course, this kind of realistic advice is necessary, but it may be somewhat different from the ideal home decoration that I want. 5. Ignoring the strong feeling No matter how carefully you choose a product When you actually bring it home The more you look at it, There are times when you get a strong feeling that it is not right.💦 If you ignore the warning lights in your head at that point and continue to move forward You will face a bigger disaster… 😱 For example, you bought a dining table that doesn't match your kitchen And now it's burdensome to return it and buy something else And you think it will look good if you decorate it somehow🤔 So if you start buying dining tables, chairs, storage units, etc. that match it, You will fall deeper and deeper into a swamp. When that happens, it becomes really hard to turn back later.😭 Even if you feel bad about the time and money you invested It's better to get rid of that dining table that doesn't match your kitchen As I write this, I've really Only done things that I'm told not to do… 🙂… I hope that beginner home decorators can refer to my failure story and have a satisfactory home styling.🫶 #Home decoration #집꾸 #홈꾸미기 #홈꾸 #홈스타일링 #홈스타일링팁 #인테리어팁 #가구배치 #집스타 #집스타그램 #신혼부부 #신혼집 #신혼집꾸미기 #신혼가구 #가구추천 #초보인테리어 #초보 #초보방꾸미기 #초보새댁 #초보주부 #예쁜집 #예쁜집꾸미기 #예쁜집인테리어 #인테리어꿀팁 #인테리어추천 #인테리어팁 #인테리어그램 #인테리어 #인스타 #인스타그램
