It is not simply made of stainless steel, but has an attractive brushed texture. Another advantage is that the brightness can be adjusted very precisely. The reason I prefer LED is that it generates less heat, so it is good for use in all seasons, and since it is made of glass, the light itself is warm, which is nice.
