It's a plate type, so it's more stable and sturdy than a rib frame. The soft and fluffy head is good to lean on without needing a separate sub-pillow. It's a king-size mattress, so I chose a queen and king size, but it was so perfect that I was excited. I asked several times while putting the mattress up, saying that the frame wasn't too small.
