#구축극복기 My beloved bathroom started leaking, so I had to remodel. After getting estimates from contractors and choosing a company recommended by a friend, I asked them to prioritize leak control. I selected everything from the faucet to the ceramic fixtures, checked daily during construction to ensure there were no issues, and even purchased accessories in advance. They were busy with construction on Hwangridan-gil Road, so I had to stay with my parents and in-laws for two weeks with my dog. My husband also commuted from afar. A bathtub would have been nice, but the bathroom was so narrow that my knees would touch the wall when I sat on the toilet, and the toilet paper holder would rub against my shoulder. 💡The demolition of the entire bathroom made it more than a hand's width wider. The sink is a bit on the large side, but the increased width made it more than enough. 💡I tried to keep all the accessories as matte as possible, but I prefer a glossy look for the most-used vanity faucet, so I chose Luna. 💡For the lighting, I installed two 3-inch Artemide Teddy main lights and wired them so that they could each turn on three different things, including the exhaust fan. 📍I chose a bathroom without storage to make it feel spacious and not cramped. Instead, I installed a stainless steel shelf for guests, and I plan to install hooks behind the door for clothes. (Since it's connected to the bedroom, I placed the storage right in front of it for easy access to towels and pajamas.) We also installed a Hanssem laundry trolley next to the bathroom door, allowing me to store my dryer and laundry right there. Since we were renting and then buying, we had to remodel while we were still living there. Therefore, if possible, I highly recommend remodeling before moving in. Cleaning is a total killer😇 I've done move-in cleaning before, so I did it all myself, meticulously. But the dust from the vacuum's HEPA filter is so fine it ends up on my hands, even on the wallpaper. 📍If you're going to do it, check with the contractor as much as possible about the maintenance work, and the more you can do to make improvements in case something isn't right, the better.
