This mini, straight kitchen in #rumahurban was previously damp and had minimal lighting. So when renovating, we asked the builder to make air vents and lighting. But when we wanted to make a window, it turned out to be very visible to the neighbor next door. It's also #umahurban with a dense urban environment. So we requested to use glass blocks so that light can still come in. And for the air, we use an Exhaust Fan that can be turned on when needed. Plus a cooker hood that also helps sterilize cooking fumes. As for the shape of the kitchen table itself, maybe many will say it reminds us of hospital walls or kitchens because the ceramics are simply just 20cm white squares. But actually this was inspired by the Display Kitchen at IKEA (on the last slide) At that time, I wanted to apply the IKEA display kitchen because it was more about function and budget. Because the intention at that time was to keep it from being damp, so when I saw the IKEA kitchen, I gave the idea that the bottom of the kitchen table should also be tiled and left open so that it wouldn't be damp. Because the previous kitchen set was already damaged, I asked the handyman to dismantle it and replace the ceramics and make it simple like this. The furniture itself, such as the kitchen cabinets and the cabinet above the cooker hood, were also chosen to be made of metal. The point is so that it is not damp. So the kitchen in #umahurban looks like what it looks like now. It's definitely messy, especially since the occupants leave in the evening and come home in the evening #alesan 😂😂. But thank God this kitchen requires less maintenance because it is open like this. Next time if there is time and willingness, hopefully it can be more organized.
