It's absolutely not optional! I always wipe it with a towel after use. The mat I bought is attached to the wall, but if it's attached after drying, it won't be a problem, but if you attach it to the wall after use, it will get moldy. The side where the hot water comes out is very hot, so children may accidentally touch it or touch it out of curiosity while playing in the bathtub. When children eat, urinate, or have poop leaks out of their diapers, they often do hand laundry in the bathroom. It's useful to dry them well in these cases 😁 And the bathroom basket is really good! Babies around the age of one are still very curious and don't know right from wrong, so they touch and eat body wash and shampoo a lot.
