About 10 years ago, I visited the photographer Marc Riboud’s exhibition. The photos that touched my heart at that time were so deeply etched in my mind that I couldn’t just go home, so I bought a photo book. The book just sat in a corner of my room for several years, but today, while I was choosing photos to put in the living room, I suddenly opened the bookshelf. I stopped in front of a photo in the pages I was absentmindedly flipping through. In 1967, there was a protest against the Vietnam War in front of the Pentagon, and there were soldiers armed with guns. And in front of those soldiers, a girl was holding out a flower. A gun and a flower? It was so impressive. After looking at it for a while, I decided to put the photo in a frame.
