Wool fabric purchased at the tribal rug exhibition. This is a saddlebag cut in half, which nomads used to carry on the backs of donkeys and other animals when they moved around. (It is bag-shaped and can be stuffed with things) When I think of tribal rugs, I only imagine them as rugs, but it seems that these woven fabrics have a variety of uses among the bare minimum possessions that nomads have to carry around when they move around. The reason I like folk art is that it originated from the aspect of tools, created to meet the necessities and convenience of life. I was really glad to learn at this exhibition that this "beauty of utility" is strongly expressed in tribal rugs. I'm getting bogged down in this...lol #tribalrugs #rugs・carpets
