Daily routine number four | Living with a cat with renal failure My cat, Mitsu, has polycystic kidney disease due to genetic factors, and is being managed for chronic renal failure due to it. ☺️ Fortunately, he eats well, drinks water well, and takes medicine well, so he is still living vigorously, lovingly, and purring, far beyond his past life expectancy, when even euthanasia was discussed. In order to live with a cat with renal failure in this shelter, the first thing I did after moving was to lay down a washable mat. Sometimes the capsule bursts and he vomits because of the bitter taste, and he spills water. He is a very demanding cat! 😽 And I also prepared a water bowl, which is very important for a cat with renal failure, according to his taste! Mitsu drinks water from plates and cups, which is unusual. It seems to adjust the amount as it feels the water decreasing. (I'm definitely not turning a person into a cat, lol) Since hair and dust tend to settle on the water bowl, I change the water frequently whenever it moves. +They say not to put the water bowl next to the cat's food bowl, but if you put it on a mouse pad or silicone pad, it's different. It seems to feel a subtle separation of space, so it drinks well. Since this cat likes water on the bathroom floor, you should definitely have a drinking space in the bathroom. It's also important to maintain the condition of the toilet for cats with renal failure. There is no bladder problem, but it can be used as an important indicator to determine the condition of the kidneys. Mitsu's toilet sensitivity has been lower than other cats since he was young (I think it's because he doesn't live in a multi-cat household). I check the amount once a day and clean up his urine and feces. 💛 Kang Butler's toilet, Famidays tofu sand + Sand desertification prevention mat with scratcher It's so annoying! If you put it in front of the toilet, it's not hygienic because it's used for poop skiing, which is different from the original intention, and it's really annoying if it gets dirtyㅜ But it's also Mitsu's favorite item, so I put it in a different space and use it as a space to spend time together when I'm feeling good and as Mitsu's territory! 🐈 I put the food bowl in the space opposite the cat toilet and thought hard about where it would be exposed but block the view due to the structure! Fortunately, I think he's satisfied In fact, I've changed the location several times, but he likes the current location the best, so he eats well without scratching once😄 💊 I take my medicine regularly because of kidney failure In fact, these medicines are the reason I always call home! I give her medicine every 12 hours every day. It's less difficult than Mitsu, who has to take medicine, but sometimes I'm upset that I can't go on a trip as I please.. However, I realize that the time I spend with Mitsu is very precious and limited, so I try my best to stay with her as long as possible and work! Maybe it's thanks to our Mitsu that I got to challenge Today's House Creator. Lastly, the sunlight is really nice these days, so when I open my eyes in the morning, Mitsu is always lying down on the windowsill hammock. I've completely forgotten how well I used it in the past. It's a space that Mitsu really likes!
