I installed double curtains (blackout + chiffon) on my living room window! Blackout curtains block sunlight in the summer, increasing air conditioning energy efficiency and helping me sleep better. Since our room faces south, the sunlight is quite strong, and the blackout curtains are very useful during the hot summer months. They also block sunlight, which is said to improve air conditioning efficiency. I use them when I turn on the air conditioner or watch movies during the day.
