I thought a wooden cypress bed with matching bedding would be great, but my oldest son was growing up and had trouble climbing up, and my second son wanted a bunk bed, so I chose a bunk bed! It's perfectly level with my son's eyes when he's standing on the floor. He can play underneath, and when he's a little older, I can add storage for him. :) I put a thin mattress under my oldest son's bed so he can sleep underneath, and I added a simple chest of drawers for my second son! He's still old enough to play with toys, haha.
