"How much is this one-bedroom?!" Hello, I'm Lucy Kim, a working holiday maker who came to the UK at a relatively late age. 🇬🇧😉 In Korea, I've lived in everything from studios to two-bedrooms to three-bedrooms, and I absolutely loved decorating. So, I'd like to share my story of how I ended up living in a one-bedroom in a share house in London. In the UK, finding a property is a challenge. It's a similar process to finding a job. If you see a property you like on platforms like Peter Pan, Zigbang, or Dabang, you send a message or email, and only then can you go see the one that responds. You can also use an agent, but don't expect the same level of service as Korean real estate agents... 😭 Going to see a property is called a viewing. Once a viewing is scheduled, you'll tour the property and have a brief interview. Sometimes the owner lives with you, but sometimes you'll be greeted by your flatmates. It's best to try to understand the type of person you're going to live with, since both parties will share the same desires. Usually, people share a kitchen, bathroom, and living room, and each person has their own room. When I was looking for a room, the average price was around £900-£950. When the exchange rate was really high, it was around 1.9 million won. I even thought I could buy a nice, high-end officetel in Korea for that kind of money. However, considering the condition of most studio apartments in Korea, finding a room can be incredibly difficult. 😭 At first, I was worried because the condition didn't seem great for the price. By the time I thought about it further and contacted them, they'd already gone to someone else, leaving me with a great place. So, what kind of house did I find, how much did I pay, and how did I find it? Finding a Home in the UK, to be continued in the next episode 😉 #UK #런던 #런던일상 #내집찾기 #워홀러 #영국워홀 #루시룸 #영국인테리어 #빈티지소품
