It's already been two months since I moved into my new apartment! Before moving in, I hired a company known for its move-in cleaning and sick house syndrome treatment, so there was barely any new house smell. (Even with the exhaust fan running in the master bathroom off the bedroom, the smell persisted.) I heard a study showed that it takes two to three years for sick house syndrome to improve. I turned on the air circulator and ventilated the room daily. I brought in some green plants to help purify the air in the living room. I also placed deodorizers in each room, which are also expected to help with sick house syndrome. 🧸 ▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎ 💛 BAS Bath ☑️ Deodorization • Sick House Syndrome ☑️ Laundry Room, Pantry, Shoe Rack I put the one my husband bought in the shoe rack, and I bought the pink container (for the car) because he likes the scent of cotton or baby powder. I placed it in the laundry room and pantry, and it effectively eliminates odors. ▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎ 💛 whiff ☑️ Deodorizing • Sick Building Syndrome ☑️ Bathroom + Toilet, Kitchen, Next to the Trash Can, Indoor Laundry Drying Room I installed this because the BAS couldn't eliminate odors in the master bathroom. The scent (pine scent) isn't my style, but it does a good job of eliminating odors. If you use it in a wide space, rather than a confined space, the pine scent won't be noticeable. ▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎ 💛 URTE ☑️ Sick Building Syndrome • Deodorizing • Dehumidifying ☑️ Bedroom, On a Plant Stand After moving in, I re-papered one wall in the bedroom, so I bought this hoping it would help with sick building syndrome. The new plant stand I bought didn't seem to be E0 or E1 grade, so I divided it into small portions and placed it in my pocket. At first, the phytoncide scent was strong. They say it starts to smell musty after about a month (I bought it about three weeks ago). They say you can reuse it by soaking it in hot water and drying it. ▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎ It's also humid in the summer, but newly built buildings tend to have high humidity for at least a year or two due to the moisture released from the building materials. 💛 Onda Forest ☑️ Dehumidification • Deodorization • Sick Building Syndrome ☑️ Closet, Bathroom, Shoe Rack I received the cypress cube as a free gift. I used to keep it in the dressing room in my previous home (a renovated apartment), but now I'm using it in the bathroom. It's said to help with insomnia, so I'm planning to move it to the bedroom soon. Oh, I don't recommend a shoe rack. It depends on the size of your shoe cabinet, but you'll need several to see any deodorizing effects. In my previous home, I put one in my husband's shoe compartment and one in mine (with a screen), but it didn't seem to have much of an effect. ▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎ 💛 Jiat (Diatomaceous Earth) ☑️ Deodorizing • Dehumidifying • Fragrance (• Sick Building Syndrome) ☑️ Bathroom + toilet, inside the refrigerator, under-sink cabinet, shoe cabinet I bought the unscented version. Diatomaceous earth is said to absorb odors like ammonia. I'm using the yellow diatomaceous earth as a bathroom decor item with a plaster air freshener (unscented). I looked it up and found that some diatomaceous earth is used as a finishing material or interior decoration to prevent sick building syndrome.
