Fortunately, it was just a malfunction, but the thought of a real fire and a serious situation terrified me from the morning. So, I bought a sticky fire extinguisher I'd seen at a neighbor's house and had in my cart. It's called a sticky fire extinguisher because when you stick it to an outlet, the granules inside the tape explode and put out the fire! I bought the cut-and-stick type, so my child and I worked hard to cut it and stick it to outlets and adapters all over the house.
