Even though our entryway is small, I really wanted a bench for the kids. When I was decorating, the carpenter advised against it being useless once the kids grew up, so I agonized over it and ended up with a very affordable solution: the IKEA Lark TV stand! I wish it was a little lower, but both my six-year-old and two-year-old daughters can sit comfortably and put on their shoes on their own. The bench makes unpacking boxes and temporarily storing luggage much easier. The shelf underneath makes it easy to organize small items like knives and tape, and the bottom shelf is perfect for storing frequently worn shoes. It makes our entryway look much neater.
