One of the advantages of a prefab apartment is having a balcony, isn't it? 🥸 My ever-growing collection of belongings... Minimalism is my aesthetic, but I need to have what I need, so I really needed storage for small appliances, daily necessities, and more. 📦 ✔️Pantry I built a pantry into the balcony, and lined the MDF shelves with anti-stain sheets. Since the width was roughly right, I didn't need to cut anything, I just used double-sided tape and magnetic hooks to secure them. I use the high shelves as a pantry for storage, and the low shelves dry coffee grounds, and dishcloths and dishes. I also organize my packages here, so I can immediately dispose of the trash! ✔️ Storage Box I bought a plastic storage box that fits the size of my pantry, and I use it to store groceries and other household items. For my husband, who always asks where things are, I used a handy label printer to attach large label stickers. (But he still keeps asking...) ✔️ Recycling Zone I bought a tarpaulin recycling bin from IKEA, but it takes up too much space, and doesn't produce much waste. So, I keep a folding box for recycling. ✔️ Laundry Zone We use a Samsung Bespoke AI Combo, which is so convenient because it washes and dries in one unit. I added a drawer at the bottom, so the height is just right. (I recommend adding a drawer in advance!) I bought a metal laundry basket, but for some reason, the bottom compartment is difficult to access. So, I'm using the rabbit basket that I used to store my yoga mats in as a towel storage bin. 🧺 Aside from that... I bought the blinds from Daiso as a temporary solution. I had it installed, but it turned out better than I expected, so I blocked the sunlight on both sides. The other veranda has deck tiles, and I go in and out barefoot.
