What's the secret to remodeling a front door that's both practical and beautiful at a minimal cost?! It's all about the floor sill!! For aging? I wanted a place to sit and put on my shoes. I had so many shoes that I thought filling one wall with shoe racks and installing a bench on the opposite side would make the entryway feel too cramped. So I pushed the partition wall in the entryway toward the living room to secure some space! But the floor gap was as big as the living room. Adjusting the floor height would have been too expensive, and a bench would have been too expensive. So I left the gap intact and just finished it with tiles. I also cut the legs of the existing bench chair and remodeled it to a comfortable sitting height. 🥰 They even offered the tiles as a service, so ultimately, expanding the entryway space and adding a bench chair cost me nothing.👍 Just matching the tiles won't make the gap less noticeable.
