Because it's a direct-facing kitchen, even placing it a little on the island always made it look messy, which was a concern. So I used to store all my seasonings in a cabinet, but now that I have this slim, clean shelf next to the induction, I feel more organized and at ease, even when I put my seasonings and small items on it.
