When I first moved in, I didn't like the large pillar in the living room. But now, it provides a nice space divider, a place to play hide-and-seek with the baby, and a place to protect our living room. For the first time, I attached a desk to the pillar, and it turned out better than I expected. I plan to stick with this arrangement for a while!
