Fools! "Du Törichter!" A work depicting the emperor looking down on fools with pity. -Materials- Paper, Instant Adhesive, Acrylic Paint, Acrylic Paste -Year of Production- 2020-2025 -Artist- @hyn.haus I remember making this piece when I was a freshman in high school...? I'm not sure, but at the time, I had already decided on a career path in design and art, and I was also preparing to study abroad. Most people do art for college entrance exams, but I didn't want to do that kind of formulaic art, nor did I feel it was necessary. Still, I felt the need to try my hand at basic art, even if just a little, so I made this piece then. That said, I had absolutely no foundation in sculpture, so looking at it now, the proportions are messy and the details are sloppy. It's hard to even call it a sculpture, since it was made with paper, instant adhesive, and putty. But anyway, it's a piece I created myself, and I still remember the immense stress I felt at the time, having to deal with so many idiots. I think I captured that feeling well with the image of the emperor looking down on idiots. That's probably why this is one of my most cherished reliefs. When I briefly returned to Korea, I brought it back to Germany, and I also bought the frame at a flea market, so I could hang it. It currently hangs on the wall, like a mirror, to reflect on whether I'm behaving as foolishly as the idiots I saw back then.
