It's slowly becoming a storage room, with no real use for it, so I've cleared it out and installed a mini dryer, using it as a laundry room. As I get older, the stairs become more and more of a burden. Haha... Where did the dream of a mezzanine go? Still, it's the only room in our house that faces west, so I sometimes go there when I want to watch the sunset.
