2025 Home of the Year Awards · Our Living Room Story Our living room is a single space, but it captures multiple "scenes" depending on the time of day and the season. For this year's awards, I've uploaded 10 photos of my living room, each one a record of a different style. Sometimes, I decorated it with a European feel, using warm beige tones and classic details to create a cozy atmosphere. Other times, I stripped away unnecessary elements and transformed it into a clean, bright, minimalist living room. As my preferences change frequently, there were days when I kept things simple with a modern black and white combination. When a pop of color was needed, I added a touch of color with a sofa and rug. Another change was the time I converted the living room into a dining room. I replaced the sofa with a table, creating a "living room dining room." The experience of eating and spending time in this brightly lit space was far more satisfying than I expected. These photos aren't just interiors. They capture the process of flexibly adapting the space to my tastes and lifestyle. I wanted to show that a single living room can have multiple atmospheres, and that a home is a "continuously evolving space" that adapts to my tastes and lifestyle. I hope this room will continue to evolve into a space that most honestly captures my tastes and daily life. And I want to continue documenting those changes so that I can share them with you for a long time on Today's House!
