When you actually use a piece of furniture you've only had on your wish list, there are moments when you end up staring at it for a while longer. The HAY Bowler side table, which I discovered through the Today's House Special Creator program, is exactly that kind of piece. It serves as a coffee table next to the sofa, as a small focal point next to the lounge chair, and as a temporary table in the bedroom, and I find myself slowly moving it around the house. The handle design makes it easy to move, and the stone base's unique heft keeps the space from feeling too light. Even without overloading it, a single cup or plate creates a scene. The photos came out a little dark because of the overcast weather for several days, but I think it really captures the table's uniquely chic mood, so I'll leave it as is. It's a piece of furniture that adds a little texture to everyday life without drastically changing the space.
