This exhibition began with the artist's closest "body," and gradually expanded its perspective to encompass people, nature, the city, and the distant coastal landscape. Thanks to this, I was able to naturally understand how social changes in France at the time impacted art. The presence of many of my favorite Impressionist works made it even more moving. Robert Lehman was a financier, but he became an entrepreneur completely captivated by the art created by light. He reportedly collected paintings on a firsthand basis. He particularly collected Impressionist works, Monet's light, Renoir's color, Pissarro's air because he wanted to experience them all firsthand. Robert Lehman believed that "art becomes more meaningful when shared with a wider audience."
