It's New Year's Day, so I made tteokguk (rice cake soup) today🤍 And seriously... it was the most delicious tteokguk I've ever had👍👍👍 It turns out the secret is my husband's secret soup??🤫ㅋ I'm pretty confident in my cooking, but I can't beat my husband when it comes to taste. I wonder if it's the power of MSG 😂 This time, I tried making it with five-colored flower tteok (rice cakes). Since it was my first time trying it, I wasn't sure how to taste it, so I boiled the tteok separately. The texture was so off-putting, I was momentarily devastated... 😵 But after rinsing it in cold water, thankfully, the texture returned to normal. Still, I'm still a diehard white rice cake fanatic. I said, "Next time, let's just use regular tteok!" My daughter absolutely said no!!
