I changed my living room bookshelf like this while raising a four-year-old. My child's books kept piling up, so I changed the layout from "pretty storage" to something easier for him to use on his own. ✔️ Divided bookshelf → No need to worry about books collapsing when he tries to get them out. ✔️ Frequently read books are in the lower section. → He can retrieve them on his own without being called. ✔️ Utilizes the space next to the sofa. → I'm happy that it doesn't disrupt the flow of traffic in the living room. After trying it out, my child came over more often, and organization became much easier.
