Hello. We're a couple of the same age, having met as friends in high school, fallen in love, then broke up, got back together, and got married. We're currently raising 18-month-old twin sons. My wife, who strives for minimalism (but whose possessions keep piling up), and my husband, who has a lot of things he wants to buy, lived cramped together in our 35-square-foot newlywed home. Then, when our children were born, we moved to a 100-square-foot home. Now, we prioritize "a safe home for the kids and a home that's less tiring for the parents" over "a pretty home." Our biggest criteria for interior design are simplicity: ✔ Keep the floors as empty as possible. ✔ Make it easy and quick to clean. ✔ Make it safe for the kids to run around freely. So, we're minimizing the amount of furniture and decoration on the floor and trying to maintain a clean, uncluttered atmosphere. It's not completely minimalist, though. We're creating a home that reflects the lives of our family of four. We built this home semi-self-contained, hoping to save about 10 to 20 million won. However, I had a miscarriage during the construction period, and I regretted not being able to pay attention to every detail. It was frustrating at the time, but now I think about it more. It's not a "finished house," but rather a "house we'll continue to renovate and add our own touch." So, this space is still a work in progress. It's a bit rough around the edges, and things didn't go as planned, but that makes it all the more realistic and human. (I can teach you some interior design tips through my failures, and how wonderful that is! Haha (sobs)) It's not a perfectly organized space, but it's a home where our family interacts, laughs, and grows. Welcome to visit our home. 😊 #FTC21stStory #도전집들이 The first space I want to show you is the kitchen, where I spend the most time and love the most. It's also the space in this house where I've praised myself a hundred times, saying, "This is really well done..." I decided on the flooring and wallpaper first, then created a kitchen with a mood that naturally complemented those tones. It's not overly flashy, but upon closer inspection, my personal style is subtly reflected. A clean and neat atmosphere was paramount. My refrigerator is on the veranda, so I go in and out several times a day. I always felt it was a shame to have that space exposed. So, after much deliberation, I decided to install linen panel curtains. Instead of a bright white, I chose a beige tone that would subtly conceal the copper-colored frame typical of a modern apartment. I wanted a color that blended naturally with the overall mood without making the space feel cramped. The result was truly a stroke of genius. The space looks much more organized, and the kitchen feels much more relaxed.
