💙 Interior Design Tip 2 - Hiding the Kitchen Hood 💙 I remodeled my dream kitchen into a large open-plan kitchen and added a large kitchen island. While a hood is typically installed above the island, I didn't want the hood protruding from the ceiling, obscuring the view, so I installed a downdraft hood. When not in use, it's hidden inside the island, out of sight. When in use, it pops up with a push of a button. It boasts excellent suction power and requires virtually no maintenance, so I've been using it for two years now.
