📍Everyone says it's a basic construction job when you move into a new home, but after living here for three years, I don't think I'll ever do it again. Let's talk about grouting and nanocoating. ✔ Grouting The grouting itself was fine. But white grout shows dirt so easily over time. I did it for easy cleaning, but I end up scrubbing with a brush more often. 😭 I used gray grout in the master bathroom. It definitely shows less dirt, and that suggests color choice is more important than you think. Also, be sure to check the shrinkage rate, warranty coverage, and warranty period. I didn't ask about this, and as the grout shrinkage worsened, the wall tiles cracked, and the toilet rim began to split. ✔ Bathroom Nanocoating The kitchen countertop, faucet, and sink are definitely easy to maintain. But the floor!! I want it dry! I thought the coating would dry quickly, but even with the fusent on, water would bounce off and form condensation, so it felt wetter for longer. Especially in a dry bathroom, it's a battle with the squeegee. 👊🏻 This is secretly stressful. Before rushing to sign a contract at a homeowners' fair, I wish you'd thought it through again.
