L-Shaped Kitchen Layout Our kitchen is L-shaped! When we first moved in, it was a small, 1-square kitchen, but we wanted something a little more spacious and comfortable, so we remodeled and extended it to create a longer L-shaped layout. We boldly removed upper cabinets from one wall, and added a single shelf to create a more open feel. This opened up the view and made it a great place to store frequently used items. 🖤 The sink is a wood-toned color that matches the hardwood flooring throughout the house! It creates a natural sense of unity in the space. This way, the kitchen doesn't stand out, and it seamlessly connects to the living room. The food waste disposer is placed right next to the drying rack, making it easy to navigate, and the adjacent space is filled with niche cabinets, so we didn't sacrifice storage capacity.
