I'm an interior design nomad, searching for a space with my own unique "depth" rather than chasing trends. 🏠 I've finally settled into this room, filled with a calming Oriental sensibility. This is my Oriental sanctuary, filled with space over extravagance, and depth over speed. While I love trendy Scandinavian styles and cool modernism, I ultimately returned to the soothing, calming Oriental sensibility. I wanted to embody the deep inspiration and tranquility of a gallery space in each room, so I never rushed when bringing in a single piece of furniture. 1. The sense of security created by black wood and a low perspective 🔲 The most effort went into the color and height of the furniture. I chose a black shelf and table that would create a solid centerpiece, reminiscent of a traditional Korean house (hanok). I opted for simple lines over ornate decoration. I also placed a low-slung sofa, allowing me to sink deeply into the earth and enjoy a sense of relaxation when I come home after work. 2. Elegant objects that fill the empty space🫖 Instead of ornate props, I placed a delicate white porcelain vase and a branch of red fruit on the shelf, adding an oriental aesthetic. Like a dot in a sumi-e painting, I wanted to breathe life into the space without compromising the space. The perfume and objects next to it were also carefully selected, each with a careful consideration to ensure they matched the weight of the space, making them even more endearing. 3. Harmony of Modern and Traditional: Bouclé Chairs ☁️ Actually, the white bouclé chair was the most difficult choice. I was worried it might be too modern, but the soft, cloud-like texture, combined with the Oriental wooden furniture, actually adds flexibility to the space. It feels like a break from the rigid Oriental concept, perhaps? The long hours of legwork and sleepless nights spent agonizing over every detail have finally paid off, and I'm spending every day feeling a sense of satisfaction. ☁️ This room, built without being swayed by trends and bearing the weight of my favorite things, is a sanctuary more precious to me than any palace. 🫧
