Recently, I've been gathering up things I wanted to buy early in my marriage, but held off because they were too expensive. It started with the Louis Poulsen Panthella, and this time, it's the Iittala Alvar Aalto vase. This one's on sale for 30% off with Bonjour's group purchase. I was planning on buying the Fritz Hansen Ikebana first, but I put that aside and decided to get the Iittala vase first. Like other Iittala products, it's inspired by nature. This one, inspired by waves, lakes, and terrain, has a soft, flowing curve that creates a subtle presence. It comes in various sizes, including 120mm and 210mm, but I chose the 160mm. From the moment I first saw it, the 160mm has been my only wish. I thought a low, wide vase would be difficult, but it's actually easier.
