It's been a year since I started living in Jeju. I'm renting a house. I used to live in a 30-pyeong duplex on the mainland, and now I live in a 10-pyeong duplex here in Jeju. So, I couldn't bring all my stuff from the mainland with me. I think I brought about a third of my belongings, but it's bigger and more stuffy than I expected, so it's a bit cramped. The furniture wasn't specifically designed for this house, so some parts are a bit awkward, but I've managed to organize the space by storing it out of sight and organizing the flow of movement. When I first saw this house, I was captivated by the wooden kitchen and the view of the yard from the kitchen, so I signed the contract without hesitation. Although the house has gotten smaller since I chose to live in Jeju, seeing the scenery and nature unfolding before my eyes is a momentary relief from any sense of oppression.
