I knocked down a wall to create a kitchen with a direct connection, but the wall between the dining table and the kitchen countertop was a load-bearing wall and a top beam, so I couldn't tear it down. I didn't want a bare wall, so I just built a lower level with woodwork in the kitchen. Haha.
