“Colorful Time Flows on the Black Floor” In the place where primary-colored toys have disappeared, the children’s tastes are growing. 🖤 Black & White That Became a Canvas When I first set up this house, what I looked forward to most was seeing the neutral-colored space fill with the children’s ‘colors.’ From rocking horses and wooden dollhouses to the nursing cushion that appeared with the birth of our second child—there was a time when the primary colors of baby products, which could easily have looked cluttered, actually appeared as lively ‘points’ thanks to the black floor and white walls. 🪑 The Transformation of Furniture, Flexibility in Life As the children grew, the house also had to adapt flexibly. We removed the front frame of an IKEA crib to turn it into a small sofa (daybed), which became the children’s hideout, and during the time when there was a risk of falls, we laid down a Slou topper mattress so the whole family could roll around on the floor and build memories. 🌈 Empty Spaces, Filled Depth Now, you can no longer find brightly colored kitchen play toys in our house. Instead, the space is now filled by two "elementary schoolers" huddled together on a wide "Like This" rug, assembling Lego, reading books, and filling the house with piano melodies. Over the course of seven years of Vicky Jung's record, the size of the toys has shrunk (just like Lego!), while the children's thoughts have grown.
