The floor tiles in my house are matte and have a very rough texture, so when I tried to remove and put in the kitchen chairs, they wouldn't move, and it was incredibly stressful. My big, budding teens didn't even notice and just kept squeaking. Even with chair covers, the floor was rough, so they'd just fall off... Then I happened to pick up a tile-style carpet, and I absolutely loved it. It's so pretty! Because it's tile-style, I can just remove the dirty parts and wash them.
