So, I decided to proceed with a different brand for the windows and commissioned a small local interior shop to quote for the full renovation, excluding the windows, to keep costs to a minimum. The initial quote was nearly 40 million won, but by cutting out this and that and keeping only the essentials, I was eventually able to bring the price down to 30 million won~ Even now, living here, I feel that Interior design is ultimately about ‘selection and focus.’ <Cost-Saving Points> 1. Simplifying the interior door design: Saved approximately 900,000 won 2. Changing the flooring from hardwood to vinyl: Saved approximately 2,400,000 won Whether it is hardwood or vinyl, scratches and dents appear after prolonged use. While hardwood requires adhesive to be applied to the entire surface, vinyl is installed mainly around the edges, so less adhesive is used. The cost was also about one-third that of hardwood, making it less of a burden, and personally, I preferred the soft feel of vinyl over the hard feel of hardwood. 3. Bathroom vanity counter → Artificial marble shelf: Approx. 500,000 KRW savings 4. Kitchen sink Hanssem → Standard custom-made sink (aftermarket): Approx. 600,000 KRW savings 5. No shelf installed in veranda storage: Approx. 290,000 KRW savings → Speed Rack installation 6. No storage cabinets installed in bathrooms (living room, master bedroom): Approx. 1,000,000 KRW savings 7.
