I really love spacing out while gazing through the archway connecting the kitchen to the living room. When the children's desk was in the living room, I thought it was nice to be able to watch them busily working from a distance, but now that the layout has been changed, I like the spaciousness of the living room as it seems to bring a sense of peace.
