I failed at separate sleep when the baby was a newborn, so I sleep with the baby now haha. Since the baby can fall off at any time, I put them to sleep on a low-profile queen bed, while my husband and I sleep together on a slightly higher large king bed :) If the baby wakes up in the middle of the night, they roll over and fall onto the bed below, so I pat them gently. These days, the baby plays by jumping back and forth between the top and bottom beds.
