Last year, I neglected ventilation for a while, and my Monstera got... something I never wanted to know... So I ended up buying insecticide 🥲 I couldn't give up on the pots, but I hate mites 😭 Since I grow the plants on the veranda anyway, I bought one with pretty good reviews, but let's not run into mites this year... 🥹 I give the plants frequent showers, so I use a veranda mat with good drainage. It's fine to walk on it barefoot normally, and cleaning it with water isn't a problem. I tried other designs, but this shape was the best, so I settled on this mat. The Daiso drip kettle has a long spout, so it's great for watering small pots. It's lightweight and small, so it's also good for letting my child play water-serving games (?). The last step is putting a strainer over the drain pipe. Even if I clean up the soil thoroughly, one or two small pebbles still get swept out after washing with water.
